“Yeondeunghoe, a Buddhist festival of illuminated colors”

This exhibition invites the French public to discover a wide variety of lanterns made from traditional Korean hanji paper, the shape of which leaves the usual lotus motifs to embrace that of other symbols: animals, plants, figures linked to Buddhism, pagodas…

In addition, photos of Buddhist temples by artist Lim young kyun will also be exhibited in the exhibition hall.

On this same occasion, during the exhibition, the Korean Cultural Center also invites you to live a unique digital experience thanks to the magic of virtual reality, allowing you to extend the experience by plunging into a dazzling world of colors.

Indeed, past and present will rub shoulders with the future during an immersive journey to the heart of a virtual world (metaverse) in which an exhibition of artists who have created works in NFT (“Non Fongible Token” in English), as well as than a parade of lanterns online, will be to be discovered.

From June 30 to September 9, a video mapping projection will be broadcast continuously in the Centre’s auditorium.

A veritable setting brimming with colors and lights, this immersive experience will allow visitors to dive into the world of Korean lanterns and bring the Yeondeunghoe exhibition to a close.
