We’re not going to pretend to be Korean music experts, so sorry for our ignorance but until this week we didn’t know much about this artist.
As we like to make discoveries and since he was kindly presented to us by Kim Hyun Joong, we tried to find out who was this smiling and funny person who seems to appreciate self-mockery.
After, we like or don’t like TROT but we learned not to stop at appearances and as we said before, we also don’t like to freeze an artist in a certain category all his life, especially since when you are a singer with a voice, you can absolutely sing anything you want.
Some who do not have a voice do it well, why not those who were born with a gift from the nature?
So, what is the trot?
Until a year ago we had never heard this word, and to be honest we tried to bring this kind of music closer to our very similar popular song to what is for us the folk song and that we listen to in our village parties in summer (yes we also like village parties).
We probably did not listen to the good trot singer☺️ and the representation of the word trot that for us was that of the symmetrical look of a horse between the step and the gallop made us think that it was perhaps a particularly timed style of song.
We were not very far away because it is indeed popular music whose origin dates back to the year 1910 when Korea was under the Japanese yoke.
For a more objective and complete definition read the description of Wikipedia.
A genre that seems outdated but that according to some would have been at the origin of KPOP, and that Korean television contests have brought up to date: “Immortal Songs”, Trot X or “Trot Music Festival” broadcast by KBS.
In short, this young artist Shin In-Seon, whose name you will also find written differently: Shin In Sun (신인선)
—If you look for him on internet check his photo, his happy look is incomparable—,
was a musical comedy singer and his popularity increased once he switched to one of these trot TV shows, until he became the darling of all Korean housewives.
His last work that he would like to promote is called FLAMENCO
We are not specialists either, but we know more about flamenco than trot so we can assure you that if our Spanish neighbors listen to the song they will think that Koreans have a very personal perception of what flamenco can be. 😀
But the rhythm is very Latin and we know how much Korean singers are attracted to Latin America 😏
We’ll let you discover his song here 👉FlamencoFlamenco, but we would especially like you to listen to one of his older works, a single of 2021, a jewel titled “I hope you don’t get sick”, simply sublime.
We liked the voice and the music, before finding the words we were looking for a long time.
Special mention to the combination of the guitar with the sound of this instrument that we wonder if it is a violin or a traditional instrument.
Mr. Shin In-Seo, once you have finished charming all Korean moms, visit us with this kind of song.
And for your information, flamenco dancers are just right next door!
What about this distant place?
My heart hurts
Even if the separation is so painful
But don’t be sick my love.
I thought I would prefer this pain
I will pray all my life, my darling
So don’t be sick, my love.
Don’t be sick, my love
What do you think of this place?
A sincere message.
I only have tears flowing from my soul
Even if I miss our memories so much.
But don’t be sick my love.
Give me all your pain
I will pray all my life, my darling
So don’t be sick, my love.
Don’t be sick, my love
I really hope so.
My love, don’t be sick
Don’t be sick, my love
