We don’t know about you, but every time we see the name of STUDIO PAV mentioned on a Kim Hyun Joong concert poster in Latin America we tell ourselves that we will have to buy a few kilos of candles and pray to the Good God so that everything goes without major problems.
Well, we know that “setbacks beyond the will of the parties” can happen, that it should not be obvious to organize a tour far from Korea and that this organizer is perhaps the only or the least worst of those existing on site, but there are still many anomalies since we read announcements of tours organized in some Latin American countries.
A concert canceled two hours before because there was a lack of authorization from the administration, concert halls that change after booking (and that’s even the least worse), concerts completely canceled as in Brazil for lack of serious forecasts on their feasibility, and other long lists of more or less important complaints that we see on social networks regarding the organization of entrances or the sale at gold prices of all the « sides » sold in addition to tickets.
Today we reached the peak with the cancellation of the Peru concert for reasons of… demolition of the concert hall.
The ridiculous does not kill, they apologize flatly and put the blame on the Municipality of the City of Lima which has decided to build an expressway (voted for 50 years) on land that belongs to it and where were installed, among others, this entertainment center, disco “Which works illegally” and that according to the residents of the neighborhood, was a place popular with “smokers”, so in essence, a very safe environment for night concerts.
Given the way these premises were demolished in the blink of an eye, and looking at the sheet metal roofs worthy of a slum, we are entitled to wonder if there was a standard security system to welcome the public, but that is another matter; safety requirements are not the same everywhere and often the lure of profit means that an organizer can be tempted to play with the limits of what is possible or legal, and he loses sight of people’s safety.
Here there are two hypotheses, either they were aware that the whole neighborhood has been expelled and demolished since last November and they still decided to play with the fire by telling themselves that with a little luck they would pass between the drops, or the organizer did not inquire about the probability of a concert cancellation in this room and that is amateurism.
We opt for the first hypothesis which is part of a whole including the hiring of “volunteers”
We say to ourselves by looking at the photos that finally it is a good think that the concert does not take place in this place.
We hope that the contracts with all these intermediaries provide good insurance in case of cancellation, and obviously we especially hope a solution to be found by March, with a room worthy of that name and worthy of Kim Hyun Joong.
These kind of incidents only damage the reputation of artists, who are forced to trust local companies supposed to facilitate the course of their tours instead of complicating them.
