A teaser with eerie music on April 12.

A first episode to whet our appetites five days later.

A second episode to deepen the theme on Saturday 20th.

Will there be two episodes a week from now on? We’re not sure.

Do we like this new formula? Yes.

Did we expect this kind of content?
No, but we’re always up for discovering the efforts of a creative mind in search of something new.

The brainstorming meeting resulted in a series of contents called “Preparing for retirement – no concrete answers“.

We’ve always found that Kim Hyun Joong  try to innovate, with varying degrees of success, and that he don’t get discouraged (at least not on the surface).

We arrived to this fan thing,  with Everyday Joong, and although at first we found the concept odd for a singer, we soon got used to it.

It has to be said that, at the time, we had quite a lot to discover about Kim Hyun Joong, and just the multi-part symphony The BIO-RHYTHM broadcast on the official channel had kept us busy and enchanted for some time.

Then, due to Covid, we tried out our first online concerts and discovered Korea with the wonderful videos of MUSIC IN KOREA 1, 2 and 3.

The entire repertoire was featured, with dozens of new versions, most of them acoustic, and rearrangements of new and old Kim Hyun Joong songs.

We then enjoyed 15 episodes of Music Healing Room and even more seven wonderful PRISM TIME online concerts, despite 99% transmission cuts.

In the middle of all this, we were treated to VLOGS and NO MOSAIC CUT, two less fortunate concepts that were broadcast only very briefly.

We were treated to no less than 21 covers of other singers’ songs in Korean, English and Japanese over four months.

During this time a physical album was released: ” A BELL OF BLESSING”, another digital album was put online in four times four tracks: “MY SUN”.

Two tours which unfortunately never made it to us, and which we’d love to see somewhere on DVD or on a streaming platform.

A few singles in Japanese, a few compositions for other artists and probably a few other activities that are part of the hidden face of icerberg.

Looking to this balance, we’re aware that very few independent artists achieve so much in four years.

As a result, we don’t feel justified in criticizing the choices that have been made, and we can only wish Kim Hyun Joong and his team  success in maintaining the official channel.

We’ll take whatever comes our way, even if we can’t help thinking that music from time to time would really please everyone… and that titles and descriptions of content in English would be appreciated by the vast majority and would make searching much easier.

This week’s theme:

What to do with a 650m2 piece of land, classified as agricultural land with no water supply, bought 17 years ago off-plan, unbuildable, wedged between a logistics depot, an industrial building and two other plots of land that are also derelict?

Our expert advice:
Sir, sell this land as quickly as possible to the owner of this logistics center so that he can make a parking lot or a depot (these people always know which door to knock on to get building permits for “unbuildable” land  😁).

We did think of a nice training facility for “city dogs”, but 650m2 isn’t very big and the concept would have to be really original to get the city pooches to move to a plot overlooking an industrial facade.

Relaxing to the sound of trucks loading and unloading and the comings and goings of pallet trucks and Fenwick carts isn’t very exotic.

We can’t wait for the next episode to hear what the local estate agent has to say.
