バカリズム脚本「ブラッシュアップライフ」がアジア最大級の番組アワード「ATA」で最優秀脚本賞を受賞!

“Time Without Her” (4 episodes in total), which will be broadcast on Me-TV from November 6, is a joint drama between Japan and Korea filmed in Gangwon-do, South Korea and Nagoya, Japan, with Japanese and Korean staff.

I was able to talk to Kim Hyun-joon, who played the role of Eun-tae, the main character who lost his beloved wife in an accident, about the filming of the episodes and the role-playing.

――You will play in a joint drama between Japan and Korea, please tell me how you felt when you received the offer.

“I was very happy to hear from you about the joint work between Japan and Korea. It is very touching that a Korean writer wrote the script, that the series was filmed by Korean film and lighting staff under the direction of a Japanese director, and that I was able to play in this work, which will be broadcast on Me-Tele.

When I made my debut, it was difficult for Korean artists to participate in Japanese works.

At that time, on the contrary, Japanese culture was difficult to accept in Korea, I do not know politics, but at least in terms of culture, I think that Korean and Japanese culture are now very close.

So, I don’t think it’s natural that the collaborative work of Japan and Korea is starting to be done in this way.

I hope that with this work will be an opportunity to see many exchanges between Japan and Korea in dramas, films, theaters, musicals, music, etc.

――There are many Japanese lines in the room, how did you learn the text in Japanese?

“I didn’t just memorize it, I started by feeling Unte and understanding the words. I did it by thinking about how I felt about the other person, so I think I was able to remember naturally instead of just memorizing the lines. However, I didn’t know Japanese at all, so I felt grateful that the activities I had done in Japan so far were helpful, even in times like this. During filming, I sometimes thought about it myself and tried to improvise.

—Do you have a particularly difficult line or a favorite line?

“There were a few lines that I couldn’t say well. (In the scene where the heroine) stays in a guest house and interacts with a girl played by Tensho Tenne, a Japanese word is released for the first time.

At the time, I thought it was particularly difficult. It was a night scene, but it took almost a whole day to shoot until about 7 a.m. And what remains in my memory is the Korean word “I want to go back”.

Initially, I knew it meant “I want to go home”, but this time it came out with the expression “I want to get it back”, so I was surprised.

――Une loses his beloved wife and is so shocked that he forgets his wife’s memory. When you play Unte, is there something you are aware of, like the expression of sadness?

“Untae is so sad to have lost his wife that he even thinks of following her, but when he sees a photo, he stops, and consequently, he heads to the city of Jeongseong. In fact, I thought about the process, but I’m sure Unte didn’t sleep at all during those 3 to 4 days. So, I asked Mr. Make to make me feel as tired as possible, and I tried to express myself like that. And I went to the funeral home so as not to be noticed, and I felt the sadness there as mine.

I made an effort both inside and outside, feeling the loneliness and sadness of being left alone.

—Did you consult Mr. Tensho, who played a mysterious girl met during the trip, before acting?

“There is a considerable age difference between Amane and me. And as I was still young, I wondered if I could express my emotions well, like the scene of separation with the lover, but I was a person who understood sadness and so on. There was a very mature part, and there was no need to worry about whether breathing would match.

However, the girl played by Tenon looks like a high school girl, and I am a man who has lost his wife much older than her, so when he takes the skinship with the acting, the audience should not think of her strangely, while taking a certain sense of distance. I was aware of expressing it like that. As you can see when you watch the video, it doesn’t look strange at all, and when the two snuggle up, they feel more sorry for each other, and I wanted each other to support each other… I think it’s a better ending.

――In fact, Miss Tensho is 19 years old and has just graduated from high school. Have you ever felt a gap between generations when you spoke to her?

“I didn’t feel it at all when I was playing. However, we all went to dinner after the drama preview the other day, and it was the first time I felt it. When it came to talking about the kind of singers and works I love, like Namie Amuro, Ayumi Hamasaki and Kumi Koda, the drama “1 Liter of Tears” (Fuji / 2005 television series), and the movie “Love Letter (19 95 years old), but Mr. Amanone (born in 2005) did not seem to understand much… (laughs)

——A time capsule appears in the room, do you have any memories that Hyun-joon would like to put in the time capsule right now?

“In fact, there’s already something you can call a time capsule for me.

I have a safe at home, but it’s not for money, but for original CDs with the sound sources of all the CDs I’ve released so far. I also keep the scripts of the works in which I have appeared so far.

――This is a very important thing for Hyunjoon, has been active for a long time. So, if you had to send yourself a message 20 years ago and 20 years later, what would you say?

“For myself, 20 years ago… at that time, I was making my singing debut as an intern, but it was so hard that I could only do my best, so I would have said: “I’m pretty good as I am now, please keep doing your best like that. I would like to tell him that.

For myself for 20 years, I think I have experienced many things so far, and I think I have done many things to protect myself. I will be happy if I continue to act and sing firmly as an artist. And I want to return to your initial intention at any time and continue to be grateful without forgetting the people who care about me.

I want to return this love and work on music and acting.

I think I will also participate in commercial works, and I would like to convey that I will also participate in works that can be moved, and that I will continue to make music and play anyway.”

—-For Hyun-joon, how do you express the game and singing in one word?

“In other words, acting and singing are like the right hand and the left hand for me, and both are indispensable, and for me, they must be there. If both disappear, I’m sure I can’t do anything anymore.

—Finally, please leave a message to all viewers who are looking forward to this work.

If there is something I want to say to everyone who sees this work entitled “Time Without Her”, I would like you to think about your important things first.

Even if you know that people are important, you tend to forget how important they are when it comes to everyday life.

You will turn your attention to something else and think it is more important, and one day you will be hurt by it, and you will return to what you originally thought was important. I think it’s something that repeats like an infinite loop.

In addition, life is not as long as we think. It’s really short.

That’s why I want you to recognize again the important things that are closest to you and that you cherish them more.

And even if the most important thing disappears, I want you to continue to live without being frustrated and with the hope that you will be able to encounter something important again one day.
