The sixth concert of the ensemble which has seven constituting PRISM TIME has just ended.
The shortest among the six already broadcasted. One of the most beautiful in our opinion, the songs having been arranged to be played with the help of 3 violins and 1 cello.
MAGNIFICENT! We are still stunned by the interpretation of our two favorite songs Four Seasons and Rightabout.
Of the past six performances, this one was, it seems to us, the most fluid, the most concise, the one that most resembled a television transmission of an artist’s concert. Not necessarily the favorite of someone ‘used’, but the one that we could show a neophyte who does not know the history of Kim Hyun Joong to try to ‘convert’ him without him being a little lost.
We have only one small complaint to make, since the beginning of the PRISM TIME concerts we regret that the translation and live subtitling system chosen by the production is a little random and not the most efficient, because it seems that most of Kim Hyun Joong’s words are not translated; at times we lose the sense of what he wants to tell us which is a shame.
But, it is already a huge progress to have a little guidance because live transcription is a rare profession; and finding a bilingual Korean / English
velotypist must be an impossible mission (need to introduce them SYSTEMRISP company …)
The ‘spoken’ moments of Kim Hyun Joong’s concerts are as important to us as the sung parts, they allow us to get to know the artist a little better.
These spontaneous, unprepared moments are in general the richest and the most interesting, with all due respect to the production which must at times have the feeling that the planned thread of the show escapes them, but like everyone is enough professional, they quickly find the marked path.
Despite this small inconvenience, the viewer realizes that the speeches are not completely prepared in advance, and that Kim Hyun Joong is talking with his heart instead of stupidly reading a teleprompter, and finally we feel like attending privileged moments of exchange.
The seventh and final concert, VIOLET or PURPLE, will take place on Saturday 6th November, and we will soon know what its theme will be.
We have been at Kim Hyun Joong’s concerts online for a year now, and can just say that every performance we attended made us proud to be fans of Kim Hyun Joong (we still don’t like that word ‘fanatic’ but we manage to make it our own now, did you see that?)
Everyone would have liked to participate in a Live concert in a concert hall, the artists first, but Kim Hyun Joong and his teams have adapted brilliantly to the situation and were able to take us elsewhere with each performance.
We have the impression that he has reached and passed another milestone in his life as an artist, that he is growing musically, and even if we missed the first part of his career, it is very pleasant to be present today, and participate in his renewal to support him as he progresses.
As the months of concerts passed, we felt that the performances from both of Kim Hyun Joong or Gemini, were nourished by professionalism and self-confidence.
We were pleased to discover team members who have become more visible, more expressive, even more eloquent.
They have matured, by their own admission they have continued to get to know each other better, and this can be seen and heard on the other side of the screen.
What seemed uncertain at the beginning has become obvious.
It took some getting used to, and while we can understand how sad it is for an artist to have to sing in front of empty seats in a concert hall, we have to look at the positive side of this and say that these concerts were watched by thousands of happy people, who would not have been able to attend a Kim Hyun Joong concert otherwise (and some of whom probably would never have met him) without that damn Covid.
Soon the live shows can start again and good news for those who couldn’t attend yesterday’s show, Kim Hyun Joong announced that he was recently able to get a vaccination and is waiting for his second one.
This is a small parenthesis, but we asked ourselves:
Why only now ?!
Seen from a country where people are demonstrating because they are kindly asked to go to be vaccinated since it is the only ‘medecine’ currently in existence, and where vaccination centers are starting to close for lack of ‘clients’, we are ashamed that we have forgotten that there are places on the planet where people would like to demonstrate to say that they are happy because they can finally have access to vaccines .Each being is the master of his own convictions, and not wanting to play politics here, we therefore close the parenthesis.
Concerts in Korea and elsewhere will surely be able to be scheduled again soon, and that brings us to the next question: What will Kim Hyun Joong do after the next concert?
We suppose, and these are only assumptions, that he will think about the organization of his future concerts, that he will think about the next Music in Korea III videos, the next contents of his VLOG in order to stay close to his fans who wait every week for his new videos, and in the meantime the concert of AMH one of the other groups of HENECIA Agcy also will take place …
He will surely also take a well-deserved rest and hibernate in his beloved Jeju Island or elsewhere …
(We only ask him very humbly not to make us spend another whole winter in an Indian tipi please. Thank you. )
We understand that he won’t be dancing on stage anymore, so we’re going to stop asking him all the time, to do that .
He now prefers to be ‘an artist with his band’ and we will respect his wish.
(However, if once in a while his old joints allow it, we would still be happy if he did a few dance steps for us. Thank you)
Of course, we would also like to see him in cinema, and if we dared, we would ask him to take advantage of his rest to consider accepting one of the film scripts that an inspired and visionary producer has surely already submitted to him, because it cannot be otherwise.
