Our Best Actor Award even lets us suppose that he will only devote himself in the coming months to his musical career!

So, in the meantime, even if we’re not big consumers of Korean dramas…

And There you go!
The inevitable happened.

We fell in love with another Korean actor!

We have decided today to officially present you our recent crush of heart, so stop for a moment to watch Boys Over Flowers series for the 30th time, you will resume it afterwards (or not… 😈).

 

We are going to talk you about Jang Ki-Yong You may already know him, but we, we have just met him.

It started when someone told us about a series called My Roommate is a Gumiho

We, and our spirit of contradiction, don’t really like to jump on new things because it’s fashionable or because everyone is talking about it.

We took our time; this is a spring 2021 series.

Also because the “fantastic” scenarios, a little implausible and for which only Korean producers have the recipe, do not particularly have our preference even if afterwards we do not find them so badly.

We therefore only very recently watched this series whose pitch was not very attractive, and were more than pleasantly surprised by the main actor.

Small mania, habit or defect, as soon as we finish a series we tend to seek all the work of the main protagonists.

Jang Ki-Yong  made us really want to get to know him better and….WOW!!!
This artist’s work is already very long compared to a career that began only 8 years ago (he is 30 years old).

Not everything is a success, but we counted around 22 participations, brief appearances or roles as a main actor.

Obviously we inquired about the complete pedigree of the gentleman, and were not surprised to read that he was also a model (they are all models one day or another… 🤔), and a singer in his spare time ( the very nice brain of voice in the background is his …)

 

We then continued with the  NOW WE ARE BREAKING series, and there we thought very strongly that this was the scenario and the role that any “romantic” Korean drama actor should be waiting for in his mailbox!

Jang Ki-Yong   plays the main role opposite the superb actress Song Hye-kyo (a “cold beauty” as we called ‘our’ Catherine Deneuve).

The remaining actors in this series are, WITHOUT EXCEPTION , all extraordinary and perfectly in their roles.

For us there is no secondary role in this series.

Special mention to the virtual scenes of Paris.
You will see the Eiffel Tower two meters from Place du Tertre, but it’s so charming that you won’t even find it aberrant or absurd.

At this stage you may have already left to check what we are talking about but stay a little longer here, we are going to talk you about the pompom on the hat, the highlight of the show, the icing on the cake,…

 

We’re talking about THE SERIES: COME AND HUG ME 

The title is so what we call rose water, that it must have passed under our nose and we didn’t even want to see what it was about (We shouldn’t have need a hug at this time 😈)

 

Our fault, our very big fault, this is the best Korean series we have ever watched so far (please excuse us, our life as a fan of Korean series is not very long.. .)

It has short lengths as usual, but these don’t make you want to skip episodes.

All the right ingredients are there, in an almost perfect balance: the screenplay, the plot, the dialogues, the music, the “secondary” actors who all deserve an award (the actress who plays the role of the mother is breathtaking, and this young Nam_Da-reum is extraordinary and we will keep an eye on him)

It’s a shame,  Jang Ki-Yong joined the army since last summer.

He will certainly lose two years of his life when he had already come a long way for the peak of his life as an artist, but he left to serve his country by leaving us quality participations.

We are eagerly awaiting it when it comes out.

 

 

Until then, we will continue to get to know each other better.
