Born : 22 May 1963 (age 59) In Seoul, Korea,

 

(Jang, Pillsoon) is a veteran of the Korean music scene and has been making music since 1989.
Her music is characterized by a voice often described as husky; unlike many female singers she prefers to sing in the lower register and applies an untrained, folk style voice to her music.

Her early albums, recorded from the late eighties to the mid-nineties could almost be lost among Korean pop, but her third album 이 도시는 언제나 외로워 (This City is Always Lonely), released in 1992, marks a change in style with the incorporation of Latin and Jazz rhythms and the formation of the core supporting band.

The supporting band is lead by 조동익 (Jo, Dong-ik) and they have done recordings in their own right; although they tend to work closely to support other artist from their label, Hana Music management.
