The fourth and final episode of the mini-series ‘The Time Without Her’ has just been broadcast this Wednesday on  LEMINO Japan platform in its full version, and in a light version on TVer.

We haven’t had much time in recent weeks to relay Kim Hyun Joong’s news updates on this subject here, but it’s just as well, because now that some lucky people have been able to see the series and others are waiting impatiently for it, we can better appreciate his point of view on this shoot by reading the two interviews previously posted online.

We also have some of the answers we wondered about a few months ago about the kind of actor Kim Hyun Joong was.

Not the kind we see on screen after the release of a film, but the kind before, during and after a shoot, even if there are still so many other questions we would have liked to know the answers to, which are linked to the mysterious fascination an actor arouses in us.

What state of mind is he in when he decides to accept a script offered to him?

How does he prepare himself to ‘moult’ over the course of his [rare] films, the better to immerse himself in his characters ?

What is his emotional state at the end of a shooting?
How long does it take him to let go of the character he has played?

We’ve often wondered why he waited five years since Indian Pink to accept a new role.
It’s probably because he hasn’t had any serious offers, or perhaps he’s been more focused on his musician side’.
Maybe he just doesn’t want to do things because he don’t want to be in a demonstration posture or because he is [too] cautious and thoughtful.

In any case, we got the answer to the other question we were asking ourselves, which was : whether watching Kim Hyun Joong the actor would  bring us back to Kim Hyun Joong the singer on a concert stage?

Not even once!

We just appreciated all the way through, that his desire to succeed, his hyperactive, hard-working and ultra-perfectionist side allowed him to deliver  so well that sentimental nostalgia and thoughtfulness of the role .

We admit, a few small gestures reminded us of everyday Kim Hyun Joong.
The little turn of the head to move a lock of hair from his eyes and the furtive, quiet smiles that characterise him, as if his mind were suddenly crossed by an amusing thought that only he has the secret to.

We’re delighted that Kim Hyun Joong was able to take on this challenge himself and accept to perfectly conveying the depth of a sad and lost character on a dark and difficult subject, in a way that is both modest and very captivating for the viewer.

We just hope he won’t wait another 5 years to take on other projects and explore different worlds, for our pleasure as well as his own.

We also hope that he’s not afraid to take on supporting roles, which can sometimes be just as powerful as a lead.

We understand that praise and awards do not give Kim Hyun Joong the feeling that he has succeeded; on the contrary, they push him to question himself and to want to go further.

Let’s go for it, without putting ourselves under pressure, without allowing ourselves to be relegated to the easier roles of the ‘original actor’ as we so often see, at the centre of the story of course, but always with the same trajectory and undergoing events.

This is not the case with Kim Hyun Joong’s last two films.
He doesn’t cheat and works hard believing in what he does, so that we, the audience, also believe in him.

We hope that this film will be the first of many.

Until Kim Hyun Joong comes to us with ‘The Time Whitout Her’, we’d like to say a few words about the illegal copies that circulated as soon as the series was broadcast, in the softest way we can because our ears have been smoking for the last three days.

Let’s wait and trust the producers of this series to bring it to us OFFICIALLY.

We’ve never seen a series with so many teasers; we’ve counted 72 on Instagram so far 👉 @nagoyatv_drama.
Suffice it to say that the production is making an effort and is very keen for this film to be distributed as widely as possible.
In Japan, Amazon Prime is already broadcasting links to LEMINO, which makes sense doesn’t it?

Let’s wait for a LEGAL means and stop stealing movies as soon as they finished being broadcast.

Don’t boast to others that you’ve been banned from a network because you’ve been caught broadcasting recent films on Telegram or Youtube.
It’s nothing to be proud of, just  ask yourself the right question: why are you doing this?

The compliments and comments from some people that may seem encouraging to you, are in fact sad; generally they come from the same people who are in a hurry to broadcast private images of under-age children, so there’s nothing encouraging about it when you don’t have a sense of propriety.

Stop trying to convince yourself that this is a good intention: ‘to promote the artist and to give as many people as possible the opportunity to get to know the work’.

This is a lie!

If you want to make a work more widely known, go and submit one, two, three, as many applications as you need to the official producers, and you’ll avoid exposing yourself to sanctions and seeing all the hours of work you’ve really put into ‘promoting’ Kim Hyun Joong’s work wiped out.

For the record, if you can’t wait, the series ‘The Time Without Her’ is online on the official LEMINO Japan platform in full version and with previously unseen scenes.

As already mentioned, you’ll need to take out a VPN subscription, which may be free for a while and will give you access to TVer (official “light” episodes).

Alternatively, you can use a VPN (Japan) to sign up directly to the official LEMINO streaming platform, which is free for a while and then chargeable.

Register using the official link: lemino.docomo.ne.jp/ft/0000089/
It’s in Japanese, but quite simple.
You will then be asked for an ID (copy the one you see in the transparency or your own) and a ZIP/POSTAL code: insert the code 460-0001 (thanks @illublue🙏).

Warning: this doesn’t work on an iPhone or Ipad – get a computer.
