Kim Hyun Joong had announced that a new song would be unveiled during the concert “INTO THE LIGHT – THE SYMPHONY”, but only a teaser was shown on this first day of the concert.

The official launch will only take place on March 27 in digital format.

Will it be done by a digital distributor, intermediary with broadcasters such as Deezer and Spotify, or by some other means? They didn’t specify but in the end all we care about is knowing that we will soon be able to hear this new song via the usual streaming platforms.

March 27?
This date rings a bell. Doesn’t it? 🤔
But maybe it’s just a coincidence after all.

Hyun Joong has decided to release a new song for the first time in about a year!

The first day of symphonic performance in about 5 years has been successfully completed at the “2024 KIM HYUN JOONG CONCERT “INTO THE LIGHT” THE SYMPHONY to be held at the Fuchunomori Arts Theater in Tokyo on March 15 and 16. .

At the opening of the performance, a short video was projected under the narration of Hyun Joong, expressing the sad but bittersweet emotions of young people remembering their “departure” and “farewell” at the arrival of spring.

During the performance on the first day, it was announced that Kim Hyun Joong’s first new song in about a year would be released on March 27th!

Based on Hyun Jun’s original idea, the song was written and composed by Ai Kawashima, a nationally renowned singer-songwriter who gained considerable support throughout Japan with “On the Day of Departure…” (On the day of departure…). “Sakura News” is a “Sakura song” that follows “Hanaji”, a song originally written by Kim Hyun Joong and with lyrics written by Fumiya Fujii, which was released last year, and which expresses a sad feeling of love on the theme of “leaving”. It’s a song that was created.

Last year, Kim Hyun Joong performed in 10 cities in 8 South American countries, including Guatemala, Ecuador, and Bolivia, and in February this year, he participated in a musical event in Mongolia. Kim Hyun Joong is active all over the world. However, we plan to continue our activities in Japan this year, including releasing original Japanese songs sung in Japanese, so please continue to support us!

Here is his personal comment

<Kim Hyun Joong>

Last year, when he produced a graduation song called “Chime” in Japan, he wrote “Departure” by Ai Kawashima, which is sung and loved by many people at graduation ceremonies and graduation seasons in Japan. I learned about the song “On the day of…”. I thought it was a very beautiful song, full of emotion and Japanese sensitivity.

I was asked to participate in this project, and when I heard the first demo, I felt a chill in my heart. As the lyrics and arrangement were added, I felt that it was a very springtime song, perfect for this theme, and that it also had a Japanese twist, so I thought Japanese fans would definitely like it.
I’d love for many people to listen to it in the spring, the season of departures.
Finally, I would like to once again express my gratitude to Ai Kawashima for accepting this project and producing such wonderful music.

~My impressions of this collaboration

When I collaborated with Kim Hyun Joong and listened to the finished song, I was filled with excitement.
I think by combining the voice, the lyrics, the melody and the arrangement, the appeal of the sound expanded, not as an addition but as a multiplication.

~Thoughts entrusted to this song~
With the motif of cherry blossoms, which herald the arrival of spring, the song depicts a heartbreaking love story with a light melody, recalling precious memories and thinking about the future of these two people.

~Message~
I am one of those who have been fascinated by the beauty and transparency of the voice.
I would be very happy if this “Sakura News” would add even a little color to the time I spent with Hyun Joong fans.
