This year SEOLLAL takes place from January 28 to 30, 2025.
Seollal, or Korean Lunar New Year, is a major holiday in the life of South Koreans that takes place in January or February and involves family visits, ancestral rites, consumption of traditional foods and spending some time with the family, among other things, playing traditional games.
It’s really summarizing the most important holiday in Korea to the strict minimum, but everyone knows what it’s about, right?
Otherwise refer here, we had made a small summary in pictures in 2021

This week, on January 29, we also celebrate the Chinese New Year.
The year of the Wooden Snake, but superstitiously we are not going to address the subject, because after the Year of the Dragon 2024 which was supposed to be our year in every way, and which was in fact a rotten year, we tell ourselves that we were wrong to make fun of the Dragon and we find that it is more reasonable not to rub against the coming Serpent.
Happy lunar feast of Seollal
Happy Serpent’s New Year.
Happy New Year ‘calendar’ 2025, because we can still make New Year’s Wishes until January 31.
