Ever since we met Kim Hyun Joong eight months ago (sorry it took so long to find him, but gold nuggets are rarely found on the first try, right?), We asked if the cinema still interested him. If he received screenplay proposals or if he preferred to devote himself solely to his music, which we still found a shame.
It seems that we have the beginning of an answer.
Yesterday, during his third “videocall” with fans (next article subject for journalists: Kim Hyun Joong has become a “videocall addict” and had to undergo rehab! )
He indicated that he was on a diet because we were going to see him on TV soon (beware yet another hot topic for reporters: “Kim Hyun Joong has signed a contract with the firm SLIMFAST diet!” )
We thought, TV? Presenter ? Between two musical tours it seemed like the perfect timing to diversify its activities.
Others immediately thought : sequel # 2, 3 and 4 of “Boys Over Flowers” with Lee Min Ho, but he is too busy at the moment. He has to sell Dominos pizzas.
Sorry Lee Min Ho fans, we are vipers’ tongues here …
We didn’t have to say it but we love Lee Min-Ho’s work very much. His agency should only stop making him sign all the advertising contracts that are offered to him. We’ll end up seeing him in an advertisement for toilet paper.
Mr Lee Min Ho you will not have the exclusivity of the subject this time, someone has already done it before you! (another hot topic for journalists: Kim Hyun Joong signs an exclusive contract with the brand “Bath Tissue”)
What we mean is that the series of the past are very pleasant to watch and any fan of Kim Hyun Joong always ends (or begins) by watching them, we are the first to do it, but the relentlessness of some wanting to leave Kim Hyun Joong there annoys us a bit (we could even say a lot) and we would like to advise them to move on.
Why not watch INSPIRING GENERATION series also called “Age of Feelings? The only flaw is that half of the viewers are dropped at the end of the 51st episode, which is a shame, because if you persist until the end, you will realize that the role of Kim Hyun Joong in this series has been the best of his career to date, and that he has revealed to us all the facets and the extent of his acting.
We would like to have an “official” confirmation before participating in the general “agitation”, but as the buzz seems to be going very fast as usual, we decided to participate.
We can only be very proud and happy for Kim Hyun Joong for any role that match his talent, and most importantly, we would like to congratulate the producer who grow a p ….. to managed and persuade him to let his music and do his second job (and especially to have entrusted him with this role in the context of recent years!)

What a surprise that this is such a film de noir!! I would have guessed KHJ’s first foray into the large screen is some kind of a rom-com. Looking forward to the release in 2021.
I like it to be a “film noir”. It gives me a whole different perspective of what Kim Hyun Joong is capable to do.
Of course if it was a romantic comedy the audience would be more numerous (and the number of comments from lots of “aspiring film critic” would surely have exploded)
I absolutely loved his drama, Inspiring Generation… though I didn’t find it on Netflix, but recently finished it. I thought it was excellent and great show of his acting skills. He was amazing in it! I’m a bit leery of this one, as it seems to get on the dark side, like some psychological thrillers which normally aren’t my cup of tea, but I’ll watch anything with Kim Hyun Joong in it. So glad to see him acting again though I love his music and his new album.
This is amazing! I always felt he had it in him to act like this. Very few actors can carry ‘film noir’ characters well & this seems to be a cut above most. I am excited to watch what kmj can bring to the big/small screens going forward. I enjoyed the cutesy roles he has played but this can get stale as he matures. Appreciate that he takes risks to bring his art & maybe genius to the table.
