As mentioned before, Indigo was one of our favorite performances, especially for the choice of songs and the wonderful arrangements, but we found that last Saturday’s concert was not like the previous ones in terms of final result.
We found it to be too “commercially” perfect and that’s not a complaint, but it wasn’t as usual.
Too strict timing, not too much room for the usual spontaneous improvisations and reactions, more focused on the singer and a little less on the musicians of the group.
The smiles faded away and you could feel the band members slightly energized, reserved, as if they were preoccupied with something.
We thought that playing with four new instrumentalists necessarily required more concentration.
We thought that Kim Hyun Joong might have been called to order by the production, and had been asked to speak a little less between each song in order not to exceed the airtime initially planned.
Everything was beautiful, everything was perfect, but something was wrong, without us being able to find exactly what had changed.
We may now have the beginnings of an explanation.
Considering the number of articles and photos published on the net, people present in the hall were probably reporters invited to the event.
We saw a Kim Hyun Joong who tried to provide two performances instead of one that night.
Keep his natural side for his fans and show his other side of a musician / actor for the professionals on site.
Finding the right balance doesn’t have to be easy and composing two paintings at the same time has to be doubly tiring.
What if for the next concert we stay together?
