Hello everyone, I am Kim Hyun Joong.

If you could spend Christmas anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I’m currently traveling all over the world for tours and trips.
But no matter what, it seems like Christmas should be spent somewhere with a wintery feel.
So places with beautiful winter scenery, like Canada or Antarctica.
I’d love to visit these colder places in the world at least once.
Ah! And of course, I can’t forget about Santa Claus’ country!

One day, I really want to spend Christmas in Santa’s country.

If you could create a new Christmas tradition to share with fans, what kind of holiday activity would it be?

Back when I was in Malaysia, I knew it was a place without snow.
So if you want to see snow, you need to use some fake snow machines.
So I thought that in the future, playing in the snow with fans in a place without snow and spending a happy day together would be a pretty good idea!
Thinking back to your childhood, what memories do you have of Christmas?

When I was young, I was more innocent and have the most childlike spirit.

I once believed that Santa Claus exists in the world.
I remember when I was young, I usually went to sleep with excitement and awaited for Santa Claus.
When I was in elementary school, I found out that Santa was actually my parents, which was a bit disappointing.
But I want to go back to that time, to my most innocent, childlike self.
If you were to buy a prank gift for your best friend, what would it be?
A funny Christmas gift?
If I wanted to play a joke on a close friend,
I’d put a poisonous snake or scorpion in a box to scare them.
Recommend a must-eat food for Christmas.
When it comes to Christmas, you definitely need cake!
If it’s a Korean food, rice cake (Tteok Cake).
And sushi cake, kimbap cake.
If you come to Korea, you can try it. Although these are not common in Korea either…
You can try the more common rice cake cake, which I think can be a very special Christmas experience!

Since I’ve come all the way from Korea to VOGUE Hong Kong, how about challenging two more questions!

What is your favorite Christmas song?

The Christmas song I sing most often is “Last Christmas”.
I sang this last year too, but I actually hear and sing it every year!

What special Christmas gift have you received?

This year I put up a Christmas tree at home.
Fans sent a lot of Christmas tree ornaments to my house.
So many that the tree branches started bending from the weight.
I hope I can visit everyone in Hong Kong next year too, so you don’t have to wait too long.

And I can bring you better music and performances.

About a week after you see this show air,
I’ll have a surprising piece of good news for everyone.
I’m working hard on preparing a new album and some new songs.
Isn’t today Christmas? Wait just six more days or so, and you’ll hear some extremely exciting news.

Although I can’t tell you specifically what it is, this is the first time I’m publicly mentioning it to everyone.
