It reminded us of the “good old days”!
Five years on, it seems we’re still at the same stage.
There’s not enough haters on social networks, people who are supposed to have the same goal are getting into fights with each other too.
This week we’ve met almost every type of “fan”, some of whom are what sociologists commonly call hysterical fangirls.
Keep your hands off “their boys”.
First they start arguing with each other on social networks because there aren’t five guys getting a band back together, but only three, and then they find something else to draw attention to their unconditional love: the witch-hunt!
They have to find someone to blame for their disappointment.
Their boys’ new songs don’t reach a million views in 24 hours!
The fault lies with the fans who “steal” the content.
Promoting 55 seconds of a song on a fan channel is more serious than ‘pumping’ a complete pirated film that everyone has rushed to watch without batting an eyelid!
Introducing NEW PEOPLE to a song by three artists is an extremely serious act.
We need to keep the “boys” to ourselves, and only use our social media accounts, which are supposed to relay information, to criticise and try to reframe other people.
So, after meeting a few specimens this week :
💢the fan who finds it hard to understand,
the one who generally comments on content without having seen all of it because she’s read somewhere that something or someone needs to be attacked, and for whom it’s pointless trying to explain what she’s attacking because it’s a waste of your time since she still hasn’t grasped that you have to like official content and other people’s comments to motivate them and keep them coming back, and she’s only give likes… to her own comments.
💢the petty and meticulous fan
who will systematically try to prove that others are wrong and that she is right.
A real encyclopaedia!
She knows everything.
Dates, places and lots of other private information very important…for her only.
💢 the perfect fan
a well-educated, friendly person who regularly leaves thoughtful, inspiring and flattering messages on her well-followed social media accounts.
In general she tends to put indelicate fans in their place and often does the job of a moderator instead of the official administrator.
…until she takes a wrong turn, decides to deviate, and starts RE-posting everything that passes under her nose without realising the responsibility that her position confers on her.
… and because we don’t want to fall into the category of Fan Victim who feels ‘guilty and who seriously must think about how to be forgiven ’ (for what we don’t know exactly 🤔),
…we’ve decided to call it a day, because after all it’s Kim Hyun Joong as a solo artist or with his musiciens band that we’re interested in.
We’re willing to support all his work, but we’re already having a hard time finding a way to promote him individually, so our energy, our time (and everything else), will be devoted to less desperate causes.
