We’re repeating ourselves, but we’re saying it again: we didn’t know SS501 20 years ago.
(We weren’t born 🤣)
At the time, the Korean wave hadn’t yet fully broken on this side of the planet, and the band was mainly active in Asia.
A few forward-thinkers sensed the tidal wave but weren’t suspicious enough and forgot to warn us.

So we have no preconceived ideas about these concerts featuring former members, and our eye is completely neutral (my eye 😏).

What we saw, if anyone’s interested:

Kim Kyujong
We don’t know him well musically, but we really like his paintings and the mysterious way he portrays himself during photo shoots.
On stage, he seemed to us the most concentrated, perhaps the least at ease of the three.
His stature means that he’s the most visible, and at first glance we only see him, so we analyze him and get the feeling that he’s holding back or wondering if he has the right to be there.
Maybe he’s just less expansive.
When we finally see him enjoying himself and letting go, he’s impressive, taking up space and we want to reassure him that he’s in the right place.
We can only hope that he’ll always enjoy what he do and smile a little more, because his whole person lights up when he smiles.
(Please, stylist, let him find his brown hair color, which suits him so well).

Heo Youngsaeng
Shhh 🤫
Don’t tell anyone, we always thought he had a timbre and vocal possibilities on certain tessituras that surpassed Kim Hyun Joong’s.
He’s the one who seems the most shy, and like any shy person he’s amazing when he feels confident.
On stage, he seems so at ease that you think there’s no need to worry about him, because even if he stumbles or forgets the words, he’ll always be the cutest.

Kim Hyun Joong
What can we say?
He really is the boss, but after all, he’s the one who organizes the show.
He looks, and maybe it’s just an impression, SERENE.
He seems quietly proud, happy and serene.
He supervises and watches over the entire performance.
We can see him casting encouraging glances and smiles at the dancers, the audience and his musicians.

In terms of physical performance, he’s in top form.
It has to be said that he recently completed his “dancing” Last danse Tour, during which he suffered from shingles for weeks, so two home matches accompanied by his two friends is no mean feat, not even a small (visible) trace of fatigue.

We’ve condensed into a playlist, as and when they’re released, the lovely videos that lucky fans have posted on YouTube.
Don’t forget to thank them, and if you’re not inspired to comment, at least give them a thumbs-up.

Visually, we’ll let you judge the whole thing, we, all we have to say is that a leader is a leader for life.
