In April 2010 a group of South Korean fans of Kim Hyun Joong decided to create a fund intended to give in his name, grants for studies for the entry into the university to students in financial difficulty, in order to show their love and support.
This foundation is called Hyun-Joong Kim Scholarship Foundation, and has helped many students since its creation.
Kim Hyun Joong decided to make a donation to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its creation thanking his fans and reminding them that the foundation still exists.
He could have simply sent a check. But, that would have been too easy and very unlike him.
Mission of the day: head to an indoor golf center (on simulator) to raise money that he’ll donate to the foundation.
He’d love to make a Hole-in-one.
A professional has a one in 300 chance of succeeding and an amateur has one in 12,000.
Given that he’s a novice, he has almost no chance of making one.
But….he made it on the 188th try, to everyone’s general surprise, including his own!
The total amount donated to the foundation at the end of the day when he combined the useful and the pleasant: 7,440,000 Kwr (around 5.430 euros)
